Julia Simon is a renowned French biathlete, a sport that combines cross-country skiing and rifle shooting, who has a number of european and world champion medals under her belt and is part of the French Biathlon Team.
She started skiing at a very early age - around two or three - with her father, and then began downhill (Alpine) skiing at the Saisies Sports Club. They also did some parallel (Nordic) cross-country skiing and she quickly realised that although it required a lot of effort, she was more comfortable in this discipline. At the age of 8, she had to choose between Alpine and Nordic skiing and without hesitation, she found herself in the Nordic section. At the age of 16, she turned to Biathlon where she joined the Savoie Ski Committee and then the French Biathlon Team.
