As Vice President of Research and Product Development, Kevin Deighton utilizes more than 25 years of engineering and technical expertise to research and development of Pelican’s new products from concept to manufacturing to market. Deighton is responsible for the capturing the Voice of the Customer and guiding the organization through the product development process. Some of his career highlights include the creation of the Remote Area Lighting (RALS) category, protection for consumer electronics and the recent line of lightweight AIR cases.
Before his promotion, Deighton served as Pelican's Director of Product Development where he managed and launched a wide array of Pelican's products.
Prior to joining Pelican, apprentice-trained Deighton served as a Mechanical Engineer for Vickers Defense Systems, one of Britain's oldest and most venerable armament builders. While there, he worked on programs for both the British and US military battle tanks and multiple rocket launcher systems.
Deighton has been awarded 25 United States patents, holds a MBA from Cal State Long Beach and a degree in Technology and Management Science from the University of Bradford UK.
