As President of Pelican's Consumer Division, Shortt oversees all aspects of the consumer business, which includes the Pelican ProGear product line, as well as traditional cases and lighting products for the consumer electronic devices, sporting goods, photography and dive markets, with a heavy emphasis on sales, marketing and business development.
Shortt brings more than 30 years of sales, product management and marketing experience to his new position. Prior to joining Pelican, he most recently oversaw the entry into the tablet case market as Global head of Product Development for Targus Incorporated and also was Managing Director of the Americas.
Throughout his career he has worked with industry leading companies, including Black & Decker (Kwikset and Price Pfister divisions), CSK Auto (Kragen, Checkers and Shucks brands) and Waterpik Technologies.
Shortt holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
